AIDS Bicycle Cruise

When is it?

The AIDS Bicycle Cruise takes place on Sunday, September 11, 2016. Packet and last minute registration takes place at 10:00 AM. The 20 and 10 mile ride departs at 11 am and the 5 mile ride departs at 12:30 pm.The after party starts when you get there! Awards Ceremony at 4:00pm.
Day of Registration for the 20 and 10 mile rides is $50 and registration for the 5 mile ride is $45.

Where does the ride start?

The AIDS Bicycle Cruise will dock and depart from a NEW LOCATION this year! The Start and finish line will be held at Barrel 31 in Martini Corner! Barrel 31 is located at 400 E. 31st St, KCMO, 64108.

PARKING INFO: You can park in the KCPT Parking Lot at 31st Street and Grand Blvd. (the lot on the north side of 31st street). There is also parking in and around Martini Corner.

About the 2016 Route


Each of the three routes on the AIDS Bicycle Cruise is designed to be easy, social, and FUN! The route map will be posted later this summer (the map to the left is last year's route map).

You have three route options: 
  1. 20 Mile Luxury Liner  - Visit 7 ports of call to enjoy live music, beverages and snacks.  
  • 10 Mile Island Hop - Enjoy four ports of call on the way to the perennial favorite stop at Hope Care Center.
  • Then hop on a bus back to the after party at Barrel 31.
    We'll carefully pack and transport your bike back to the lot at Barrel 31 for pickup after 4:00 pm. 
  • 5 Mile Play in the BayEnjoy the music, snacks and beverages one port of call before returning to the finish line party at Barrel 31.

How much does it cost?

Registration for the 20 and 10 mile routes is only $45 if registered by end of day Friday, September 9th. And registration for the 5 mile route is only $40. Cruise rates go up to $50 and $45 respectively the day of . Please note we ask riders to create a fundraising page online and recruit your friends, family, coworkers and neighbors to support you as you raise money (and awareness) to beat this disease.

What if I can’t ride or don't own a bike? Or have already committed to another charity ride?

Don't own a bike but want to ride the 5 mile route? We have just the thing for you! Come "Play in the Bay" on the 5-mile ride by signing up for a 24 hour membership with B-cycle prior to Sept 11th here Enter promotion code ABC16 to waive the $7 membership fee. On event day, be sure to bring the credit card you sign up with to the event. A B-cycle station is on site at Barrel 31. Access the station with your credit card as an existing member. Pick your bike. Exchange it for another bike on your Play in the Bay ride into Westport to skip the $2 over half an hour fee. Or, if you want to keep your bike, you may for an additional $2. That's it! But don't forget to register for the Cruise on the ABC website first!

After Party
Don't want to ride? Join us for the after-party!  For just $20 you can take part in all the food, fun, beverages and festivities while your donation help fight HIV/AIDS

Did Someone Say "Prizes"?

When you raise $100, you get a limited-edition 2016 AIDS Bicycle Cruise T-shirt
For $250, you get the shirt and a commemorative 2016 cycling jersey.
Raise $500, you get everything above AND an invitation for two to an exclusive rewards event in Spring 2017.
But don't stop there! We've got something really special planned if you raise $1000 or $2500, too.  Each rider is entered into a raffle for other great prizes, and additional tickets will be sold on site.

What’s a team?

Everybody loves to ride with friends, coworkers and family. It's easy to create your own team. Many teams dress alike, decorate their bikes, and throw fundraising parties before the ride. More information about how to create a winning team is in our download section here. You still get your individual prizes even if you’re a part of a team.

Does the AIDS Bicycle Cruise only raise money on September 11th?

Not any more. Because of federal and state budget cuts, more help is needed in Kansas City than ever. Fundraising for AIDS Walk is a year-round adventure. There’s always something going on! For current parties and events, click here.
